It was a sad day yesterday. We went to Muscat to pick up my dad who is visiting for Christmas. (Not the sad part.) As we were leaving Muscat we stopped at the mall for a bit of shopping & so I could feed Eliana. Jon went into Carrefour & Josiah went with him. As they were getting a shopping cart Josiah dropped Bear. Jon didn't realize it at the time. It was only when we all got back to the car & I asked where Bear was that we realized he was missing.
Jon went to check the coffee shop where we had been & then went to Carrefour where a security guard said that he saw Josiah drop Bear & a lady picked him up & tried to find Josiah. That's the last we heard of Bear. Jon left his phone number with the security guards, customer service & mall information desk but we haven't heard anything & haven't been able to get any information today when we called.
Bear is gone. The whole 2 hour trip home Josiah kept asking for Bear off & on and we kept saying he was gone, he was lost, etc. Today Josiah asked again & we repeated the story. He hasn't shed tears & hasn't been inconsolable but we all feel his loss. Bear was a special part of our lives. Bear was Josiah's friend and companion through all of our many transitions - he was the one constant thing Josiah could count on besides us. Anytime he would get scared or tired, Josiah would rub Bear's tail on his nose and lips.

Josiah, we are sad to hear of your loss! Bear was a good friend. We see he was well loved (as are you)!
We still feel the loss of Cocoa, gone these six years. She was left at Wendy's.
