weekend swimming

We had a great weekend. We put up the wading pool finally. It's definitely hot enough. In fact without the shade it would be too hot. If you sit outside in the water and put water on your head & face it's not too bad, even at 11 or 12. So yesterday we all were outside together in the morning and then again in the evening. We actually waited until after dinner when it was dark and the pool was really nice but it was a bit cold when you got out.

The kids had tons of fun sliding into the pool. (I borrowed the idea from Jen's photos on her blog. :) Our slide isn't as big but nor are our kids.) The water was a bit deep at first for Elie but she gained tons of confidence in the 2 days.

Today we went out again in the morning, had lunch outside (including listening to the Friday sermon broadcast from the local mosque), ice cream that melted before we could finish eating it, back in the pool, then inside for naps. After naps the kids wanted to swim again so they did, minus parents this time. They did well in the pool together so I have hope we can use the pool even during the week when Jon isn't home.

Jon & I were able to watch a couple of movies over the weekend and even accomplish a bit around the house. It was a great, restful weekend. We are enjoying his break from school!
