things to do in Muscat while waiting to deliver

Play in the backyard of our friend's house where we are staying. Look! Grass! They have a couple of turtles that we have let out a few times.

This is either Tom or Jerry. Not sure which. Josiah says one is fast & the other is slow.

These pictures are actually the first weekend we were in Muscat. I've gotten a little out of order in posting because they were on the other camera.

One of Jon's hidden talents- balloon creations. He took a class at community college one summer when he was home from A&M. I found some balloons at the local supermarket and thought it would occupy some time. He made swords, dogs, hats, flowers. The balloons lasted a few days.

The kids have loved playing "Kerplunk." We play with the sticks the 1st time and then they just keep putting the marbles back in over & over again.

This is at the Children's Museum this past week.

Auntie Lynnie has been a HUGE blessing. Couldn't be doing this without her. She's great with the kids, lets me get naps, makes coffee, and is my own personal midwife in residence. Jon & I both are so relieved to have her here "just in case" things go quickly again. It's been really fun catching up on each other's lives too since she's been gone from Oman for a year.

More Children's Museum

I wish I had the companion shot for this next photo. I took this with my phone the other day when we were visiting a friend that we hadn't seen since before I was pregnant with Eliana. Josiah rode his first riding toy at their house and I have a pic on the computer at home. It's fun to catch up with people we haven't seen in forever.

Here is Eliana playing with my friend's son. He was great with both her and Josiah. He's not married and says he doesn't plan to have children- he only plays with them, nothing more. Eliana even gave him a hug when we left.

Busy Bees. Play place in Muscat. Not one that we frequented a lot when we lived here and probably wouldn't if we lived here now but a great place to kill time while waiting. They have a number of stations set up- books, soft play area with big slide, kitchen, puzzles, games, dress up clothes, etc. Here are my very own Buzz Lightyear & princess.

And this should have been posted with the swimming pics. The place we went swimming over the weekend was the marina. It has an aquarium that you can look through for free. It only takes a few minutes but is worth a look. The sea turtles are definitely impressive. This is a still image from a movie I took on my phone. It was fun to see a number of local fish that we've seen in the water snorkeling and actually have them identified correctly.

And finally, a pregnancy pic. Jon & I went out to eat tonight before he left to go back to Sohar. Due date is tomorrow so here I am at 40 weeks.
